Since the summer of 2009, teams of Moody Radio listeners from Florida have gone on mission trips to the Navajo Nation in Arizona. The listeners and staff of Moody Radio have developed a wonderful relationship with the people in Blue Gap and Cottonwood, which draws them back to stay involved in these communities, assisting with much needed construction projects.
These mission groups have helped pour the foundation of a new church building in Blue Gap and laid the patio area for a church in Cottonwood. A group returned to Blue Gap in June 2010, 2011, and 2012 to continue the work on the church, as well as worked in the community and helped elderly residents with projects like fixing their roofs, filling in potholes and shearing sheep.
In 2013 the Blue Gap Bible Ministries church building was completed and dedicated to the Lord’s service!!
This past summer (2014), Moody Radio partnered with the Alpha and the Omega Church. Relationship building is such an important aspect of every mission experience. The groups spend time with families in the community throughout the week and facilitate a VBS style program for the children.
The people in these communities are excited to once again welcome back the Moody Radio team the week of June 13-20, 2015. If you have been a part of one of the previous teams, we would love to have you join us again. Perhaps you wanted to help the Navajo people in the past, but just haven’t been able to... now you have another opportunity to get to know the beautiful people of the Navajo Nation!
